Young Leaders Conference 2010

25 children from the Kauri pods (Yr6) attended the Young Leaders conference at the Rotorua Events Centre on 17^th May. The theme for the day was ‘plugging in to your poTENtial’. It was the 10^th birthday of the Halogen Foundation Young Leaders Day.

 The children had an opportunity to listen to people who were leaders talk about what qualities are needed to be a leader and what there life stories were.

The speakers were Nick Tuatasi – Motivational Speaker, Lisa Tamati – Ultra Marathon runner, Rob Harley – journalist and TV documentary maker, Dayna Vawdrey – Studio 2 presenter, Pat Buckley – Life Skills Educator and Motivational Speaker . The hosts of the day were Charlie Panapa from What Now and Whitney Pa’u.

At Fairhaven Primary we have got  a heap of great leaders!! We look forward to watching them "Plug into their poTENtial" as they get older.
